We always hear that having time alone is wonderful. And ideally, everyone should have at least an hour a day for themselves. But, realistically, being a work at home mum, there will be time when having an hour a day is totally impossible to find. But with some creative thinking and planning, being a successful work at home mum is possible.
Here are some time management tips to follow:
Creating a work schedule for each day is a good start at organising your work and duties. It helps you to remember what are the things you need to do. But without having your day planned out, one will tend to forget about the things that she need to do and as a result, their work will pile up and making themselves more stress out.
To know how to make an effective work at home schedule, follow the tips below:
Tip #1 - Have a few hours a day with your kids. Be it talking to them, bringing them to the park for a breath of fresh air or even reading them a book will mean a lot to the both of you. And not only that, it will help to strengthen your relationship with your kids and making them appreciate more of your time.
Do not forget about your spouse too. Cook him a nice meal or bring him for a ‘dinner date’ whenever you have the time and if necessary, hire a babysitter for the night to take care of your kids.
Tip#2 – Time is money. Therefore, it will be great if you are capable of doing multitasking. Because this will save you time at least 6 to 8 hours of free time a week. And with so much time available you can probably have some relaxation time for yourself, or go for a spa or even a manicure treat during the weekend.
Tip #3 – Try not to get yourself distracted by having music playing at the background or have your kids running around while you work. Instead, tell your kids that you are working and have a play box near your home office so that you can work while your kids play.
Set a time how long you should work. If you think 5 hours a day is enough, then stick to it. You would not want to miss preparing dinner for your family or forgetting to pick your son up from the basketball game. Use a timer or an alarm clock if possible.
To have a successful business and also a successful work at home mum,one has to set a goal and work towards it. Time planning is also important to determine your success.
