Safety For The Children Of The Future Posted By : CD Mohatta
August 2nd, 2008What will the future hold for the children of the world? Will they be safe from all the violence that surrounds them? How can parents, guardians, caregivers, and all concerned men and women ensure the safety of the children of the future? Violence on the streets, in schools, and in some homes is the greatest concerns most people have for children. Violence touches most people today and certainly touches most kids. They are subjected to so much stuff from the media and peers, that they don’t have a snowball’s chance if they don’t have parental guidance. Between movies that show people, including children, doing all kinds of evils and committing sins, and real life where people actually live like that, parents and caregivers face a really big problem in dealing with today’s children.
Christian living is an excellent way for kids and parents to deal with so much violence and immoral living. It is the best way to be connected and stay connected. More people need to be involved in keeping God, not only in our hearts but also in our schools and politics. We should not be ashamed to outwardly love God and give thanks for all the wonderful things He has done for us…a great, free country…freedom to choose…family, values and moral teachings from the bible. Religion choice doesn’t matter, but believing and living in a Christ-like manner does. Growing up in a religious home with parents who show love and spurn violence, allows children to be protected and learn how to deal with the violence they are exposed to in life, school and in public. Family values, fellowship, forgiveness, kindness, charity are all values that are started in the home. When children are given the basic understanding of love and respect for others, they gain a freedom to walk away from violence.
How do rights being taken from citizens affect the children of the future? Many experts believe that teenagers are so confused about their rights because nobody talks to them about it. Our rights being taken away leaves confusion with our children about what they can and can’t do. For example, God has been taken out of schools, teachers and administrators have very little means of disciplining unruly students, and many parents are not at home to raise the children with regards to respect, manners and following rules. There is no one around to tell them not to watch violent shows, not play violent video games, or not be violent themselves out in public. Many children are being drawn into violence because they aren’t being taught how to avoid it or taught personal rights they can use to help end the violence.
If Christian living IS an excellent way for kids and parents to deal with violence and immortality, then how do we get more families involved? How can we get parents to talk to their children and teach them what is right and what to do when they re exposed to something wrong. It is a serious Catch-22 situation as far as our youth being exposed to violence and being part of the violence. Bringing the topic up as food for thought is the first step in actually being able to correct the situation.
